What’re more important, technical, or soft skills?

When professionals are looking for options to improve or boost their professional career, this question will most likely come up. After having the pleasure of working with professionals around the world from all professional venues, it’s clear that both technical and soft skills are important.

For any professional career, there are technical skills that you need to master in order to be successful. At the same time, most professional careers involve either being a leader or being a team member, in these cases, soft skills become key elements for success.
In a quick example, let’s say you have a plumbing issue. You will look for a plumber that has the technical skills to fix your problem and at the same time someone that is polite and gives you good customer service (soft skills). If either is missing, you won’t be happy. This example can be applied to any professional career in any industry.

That’s the reason why all Agile Change Lean Sigma 5.0® programs integrate both technical and soft skills. Our programs focus on helping professionals become well rounded so they can boost their career by adding value to the place they work for and, at the same time, create a better work environment.
To your success,
Alex Cano
